farmer in training

Part of my busy weekend was doing some more learning on the tractor. It was the first time I’ve used the front loader and believe me, it’s much harder than the backhoe. Note the look of concentration on my face. With a little instruction, I think I pretty much got the hang of it. With a third person who can operate the tractor my parents can work on other things, like getting the solar panels hooked up to the chicken house…which is what they were doing while I was moving a pile of dirt from one end of the yard to the other.

Hi Britt, I did operate a borrowed front end loader thirty some years ago (it wasn’t easy) and I always assumed the backhoe would be harder, so I’ve hesitated to rent one for some work that needs to be done around here. But now I may get up the courage to try it!
